I understand that stars make a lot of money and maybe sometimes it is easy to forget to pay the right amount of taxes. Pay a CPA to do your taxes for you instead of letting it get out of control. First off we have Wesley Snipes going to jail for not paying taxes and Nicolas Cage is in a world of hurt because of not paying taxes. Now we can add another celebrity to the mix.
Chris Tucker is now in trouble with the IRS for not paying his taxes. Yesterday the Internal Revenue Service filed documents with the L.A. County Recorder's Office stating that Chris owes $11,571,909.26 in federal taxes for the years 2001, 2002 and 2004 through 2006.
This is how much he didn't pay each year:
2001 - $4,007,794.34
2002 - $5,060,074.23
2004 - $55,544.84
2005 - $660,414.94
2006 - $1,788,080.91
This crazy!!! Take a look he actually paid taxes in 2003. Don't get me wrong I think that Chris is great but I don't think that stars should let stuff like this go. As we see the IRS doesn't let things slide. It's better to pay what you are supposed to yearly then in one huge lump sum like this.
I guess Chris better get out there and get more jobs. Maybe he can get another Rush Hour done.
