Supposedly in October Tony Hayward BP's CEO will be stepping down to take a job in similar field in Russia. The details are not confirmed yet but as of now he is leaving. The person that looks to take his place is Bob Dudley. Maybe this was just to much for him to handle since he has made plenty of mistakes since the oil spill in April in the Gulf started. For instance he said that he would like his life back when Gulf residents struggled to deal with the spill. At that point Bob Dudley had to step in to be the face of BP.
I wonder if he is leaving on his own or if there are other factors involved in the decision to leave. We shall see. In New York, BP shares rose almost 5 percent Monday as the stock market anticipated a formal announcement about Hayward. Shares of BP PLC rose $1.82, or 4.9 percent, to $38.68 in midday trading in New York. BP shares closed up 4.6 percent Monday at 416.95 pence in London.
I feel that they way BP has handled the spill in the Gulf has been ridiculous. What do you think? Give me your thoughts.
