A Missouri Hospital May Have Infected over 1800 Veterans with HIV or Hepatitis

A Missouri VA hospital is catching hell for allegedly exposing over 1,800 veterans with HIV or hepatitis.

The hospital sent out over 1,810 letters to veterans that were treated at the VA hospital notifying them that they may have been exposed to several potentially life-threatening diseases. The exposed individuals are at a risk of HIV, hepatitis B or hepatitis C after visiting the medical center for dental work.

The issue stems from a failure to clean dental instruments properly, the hospital told CNN affiliate KSDK. Dr. Gina Michael, the association chief of staff at the hospital, told the affiliate that some dental technicians broke protocol by hand washing tools before putting them in cleaning machines.

The instruments were supposed to only be put in the cleaning machines, Michael said.

The hand washing started in February 2009 and went on until March of this year, the hospital told KSDK.

The hospital has set up a special clinic and education centers to help patients who may have been infected. However, Carnahan said he feels more should be done and those responsible should be disciplined.

"I can only imagine the horror and anger our veterans must be feeling after receiving this letter," Carnahan said. "They have every right to be angry. So am I."

El Debarge Web Searches Spike After BET Awards

Some '80s icons will never be forgotten. And then there are others, like singer El DeBarge, who need to remind people that they're still around every once in a while. The R&B crooner's surprise appearance at the BET Awards on Sunday sparked off a slew of Web searches for his family, greatest hits, and upcoming album.

He didn't take home any awards, but it could be easily argued that El was the biggest winner of the night. The flame of interest was sparked when Ciara introduced DeBarge as a true artist who continues to create and reinvent. The singer blew through a medley of some of his greatest hits. "All This Love," "Time Will Reveal," and, of course "Rhythm Of The Night" were all performed in his signature falsetto voice.

Almost immediately, Web lookups on "El DeBarge" jumped from nearly nada into Yahoo's top 1,000 overall searches, with a staggering 10,529% surge. There was also a tremendous surge in "El DeBarge new album." The record, which was alluded to at the awards show, will be titled "Second Chance" (DeBarge performed the title track, a ballad).

Hollywood Actors and Their Brothers

Have you ever watched a movie that has the brother of a famous actor in it? Well I did this weekend. I watched Jason's Lyric and saw that Lorenz Tate's brother Lahmard was in it. So we know that Lorenz is a well known actor and is very handsome, but look at his brother. When they were doing casting I wonder who decided to get him instead of Lorenz. Think of the actors out there with brothers that dont look as good as them. Are they considered the generic version of their brother. Do casting agents think ok well we can't get the person we want so we might as well get the generic version hey at least they got Tate. Right? Looking at the pictures it looks like Lahmard is the great value version to Lorenz.

John Legend's Hairline Was Jacked Up at the BET Awards

John Legend received the BET Humanitarian award last night at the 2010 BET Awards. BET observed John Legend's selfless acts while the rest of the world observed his jacked up hairline and made it a trending topic.

John Legend wasn't very happy about this because he said that his hairline has been like this since he was a kid. He has been famous for 6 years now so what are people just now saying something about his hairline. Honestly I had never noticed it before and that is something that you would pay attention to. If he has had it the whole time that he has been in the spotlight then we would have noticed and it wouldn't be a big deal now.

Chris Browns' MJ Tribute at the Bet Awards

Chris Brown danced his heart out during the Michael Jackson Tribute at the 2010 Bet Awards. After dealing with a year of black-balling, pleads of forgiveness and Twitter rants, Chris Brown attempts to sing Michael Jacksons' "Man in the Mirror" but isn't able to to get the words out because of the tears rolling down his face.

Would you consider this Chris Brown's redemption performance??

Chris Brown also won the AOL Fandemonium award and no one expected him to win that... not even Chris. So would you say its time to give Chris Brown another chance?

Here is my opinion then you can give me yours. I think that yes Chris was crying because he misses MJ, but I also think it was a mixture of things. He is probably glad that he was finally given another chance to perform and honestly this was a big performance to be given. I do believe that he deserves another chance. Yeah he doesn't need to be hitting people I agree, but it has been a year he doesn't deserve for his career to end.

Also he was not the only person at the awards show that has done something that people can judge. Alicia Keys was there with Swiss Beatz and she is his mistress about to be second wife. They are waiting for his divorce to be finalized then they will get married. And they had it blessed in South Africa, if they didn't think they did anything wrong why not get a blessing here. Everybody loved her last night and nobody judged the fact that she is pregnant by a married man. So yes I do think that it is time for forgive Chris. He still is a very talented young man and could have a bright future. Like the saying says he who lives in a glass house shall not throw stones!!!

He deserves another chance. What do you guys think?

Grammys 2010 - Eminem, Drake, Travis Barker, Lil Wayne- Forever, Drop ...

This is an AWESOME performance. This is exactly what I am talking about with Travis Barker being slept on. Once again let me know what you think about him needing to collaborate.

I don't know if you pay attention to stuff on youtube but I do. And I can tell you that I have seen A Lot of what Travis Barker can do. He is one of the best drummers I have ever seen. He can just listen to a song and then be able to play with it. Not only does he play with the song, but he makes the song ten times better by adding his touch to it. There isn't really anybody collaborating with him he just does the song thats out that is hot. The first artists that I have ever seen actually perform their song with him was Lil' Wayne, Eminem, and Drake. They performed forever on an The Grammys. This was sooooo TIGHT. I think that more artists should go in and collaborate with Travis. It would make the songs sick!!!! Tell me what you think. Do you think that Travis should collaborate or just keep doing his own thing?

Tyler Perry Is Pissed And Starts Firing Folks Because Of The Boondocks Episode That Aired His Gay Business

The Boondocks episode that aired this past sunday claims to have Tyler Perry handing out pink slips over at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, GA. Apparently the recent 'Boondocks' episode, that mocked everything Tyler Perry hit a deep nerve with the mogul. Our source claims he's paranoid and believes it was an inside job based on the show's accuracy!!!

Our source also says that Madea is giving pink slips to his entire staff [not the shirtless boy wonders] starting Friday -- he wants to control any leaks of information about "the compound!!"

So apparently the information in Boondock's episode had some truth to it, and only could've been leaked by someone that work's at the studio. So which part of the episode has some truth to it Mr. Perry?

Guess Who Is Having Their First Baby

Ne-Yo, 30, is about to become a first-time father.

EBONY sat down with the singer-songwriter at a super exclusive photo shoot planned to help promote his upcoming album Libra Scale. Ne-Yo, who is preparing to attend the ASCAP Awards Friday night in Beverly Hills, talked about how he had traveled home to Atlanta to get some news about the baby.

He had to come home so he could make the first ultrasound visit with his girlfriend. There's no word on the sex of the baby because the tiny tot curled up in a ball, leading Ne-Yo to joke that his future progeny is "stubborn." But, he added, "They didn't get that one from me."

The star, whose album is due on September 21, is excited about meeting his first child in January. "I am 30 and I do have my first child on the way, and I'm very, very, very excited about that, "he tells EBONY. "It's a New Year's baby and I'm just in a really good place right now."

Wow...I thought that girlfriend thing was just a front. Guess he's playing the straight role to the fullest now.

NY Giants Rookie Chad Jones in Critical Condition After Car Crash

Chad Jones, a rookie safety for the New York Giants, was reportedly in critical condition from injuries suffered in a car crash on Friday in New Orleans, WWL reports. The Louisiana station reports that Jones had "arteries and nerves exposed" and underwent surgery.

Jones is now said to be in guarded condition. ProFootballTalk and ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that doctors are attempting to save the 21-year-old's leg. Jones was drafted in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft after playing football at LSU. Les Miles, Jones's coach at Louisian State, posted the following note to Twitter: "Just got news about Chad Jones' car accident. We are praying for Chad and his family. Keep him in your prayers."

Let's hope that he will be okay, he has such a bright future ahead of him.

Timbaland, Dr. Dre Surprise Graduation Party

Dr. Dre and Timbaland went back to school Wednesday night.

The rapper-producers shocked students when they appeared at a Culver City High School graduation party. Dr. Dre introduced Timbaland, who performed the tunes "The Way I Are," "Promiscuous Girl," "Carry Out," and "Say Something" on a stage inside the school's gymnasium. Students invited had no idea the hip-hop masterminds were the guests of honor.

"When we walked in, we were like, 'Whoa. Is this a second prom?' "said 17-year-old junior Saul Salmeron.

The surprise performance was sponsored by Hewlett-Packard and Interscope Records, who have partnered with the aim of improving digital sound quality. The promotional event, which was recorded for an online documentary, also featured free food, photos and a raffle of HP gear. The company said it was donating $10,000 worth of computer equipment to the school.

"Y'al got a curvew?" Timbaland asked the audience at one point.

Students held up their camera phones and gathered around the stage to get a glimpse of Timbaland and Dr. Dre, who sneaked a peek of the crowd before he took the stage. Dr. Dre, who is currently working on his next album, did not perform with labelmate Timabaland.

Is a possible collaboration in the works?

"We should be so lucky," said Jimmy Iovine, chairman of Interscope, Geffen and A&M Records, who attended Wednesday's event. " I can only get them so close. The rest is up to them."

Drake's Album Tops The Charts

Drake's first full-length album, Thank Me Later, enters the Billboard 200 at #1, with first-week sales of 447,000. This constitutes one of the biggest openings ever for the debut album by a rap artist. It's bigger than Enimen's first week with The Slim Shady LP in February 1999 (283,000). It's even bigger than Kanye West's first week with The College Dropout in February 2004 (441,000). And today's sales climate is less favorable now than it was back then (to put it mildly).Thank Me Later rang up third biggest one-week sales tally of 2010, trailing only Sade's Soldier Of Love (502,000) and Lady Antebellum's Need You Now (481,000).

But Drake shouldn't get too comfortable in the top spot. Eminem's Recovery is expected to debut at #1 next week with sales well above 500,000.

I thought for sure that this was made up, but then after Marlon's forlorn tweets yesterday it all made perfect sense. "She's a recent Divorcee. Tupac Gets Library of Congress Honor

Tupac Shakur is one of 3 American rappers that will have a song preserved in the Library of Congress. His 1995 hit song "Dear Mama" is one of 25 songs that will be added to the National Recording Registry this year.

The Library of Congress called "Dear Mama" "a moving and eloquent homage to both the murdered rapper's own mother and to all mother's struggling to maintain a family in the face of addiction, poverty and social indifference."

This honor comes seven days after his birthday, where the rapper would have been 39. Tupac is the third rapper to enter the library, behind Grandmaster Flash and Public Enemy.

Tiki Barber is Crying That He is Too "Broke" To Cough Up Dough To Ex

Tiki Barber is claiming he's broke and unable to pay the divorce settlement demanded by the mother of his four children after he was axed from the "Today" show. The troubled former Giants superstar -- who ditched his wife of 11 years, Ginny, for 23-year-old blond former NBC intern Traci Lynn Johnson -- claims his career is in tatters and that he's taken a huge financial hit since his estimated $300,000 network contract ended. One source said, "The show didn't want to seem to end their deal with Tiki over the divorce, but there was a morality clause [in his contract], which said that any scandals that could affect his standing with viewers could end his deal."

The furor over the split also promted Barber to cancel a series of promotional events for his new indoor cycling gym Flywheel, which he has heavily invested in, with two locations opening in Manhattan earlier this year. A different source tells us, "Tiki's career has taken a serious hit because of the scandal. he could have handled everything in a much better way."

I'll bet he isn't too broke to buy his young blond girlfriend extravagent gifts!! What do you guys thinks about this? He maybe getting what he deserves for the way he handled things but his kids are getting punished at the same time because of it.

'Etch A Sketch King'

Once upon a time, before portable DVD players and the Nintendo DS, a 10-year-old boy was handed an Etch A Sketch to keep himself busy on a five-and-a-half-hour road trip from Cleveland to Washington, D.C.

Long after that trip , George Vlosich III is still producing highly intricate images on the Etch A Sketch. His detailed creations keep coming with each turn of the silver knobs. The red plastic box has become a vibrant frame for the artist's breahttaking creations. Young Vlosich stumbled upon a unique means of artistic expression that would one day land him on "Oprah" and have him sketching everyone from LeBron James to President Obama.

Many children outgrow a toy as their interests change, but Vlosich never abandoned the Etch A Sketch.

The Etch A Sketch is still a big part of his life. Dubbed the "Etch A Sketch King." Currently, his work can be seen at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Etch A Sketch through August 1.

The Etch A Sketch may be considered a toy, but when it gets in the hands of Vlosich, it becomes anything but child's play.

Landon Donovan scored a stunning goal in the first minute of injury time, advancing the United States to the second round at the World Cup wit a 1-0 win over Algeria. With the U.S. perhaps three minutes from elimination Wednesday, Donovan brought the ball up field on a counterattack and Jozy Altidore's shot on the breakaway was tipped by Clint Dempsey into goalkeeper Rais Bolihi. The rebound went to Donovan, who kicked it from about 8 yards for one of the biggest goals in U.S. soccer history.

"I've been through a lot the last four years, " Donovan said half an hour after the end, crying and his voice cracked. "I'm so glad it culminated this way. When you try to do things the right way, it's good to get rewarded."

Jay-Z and Eminem Concert Held on Rooftop in NYC

Jay-Z and Eminem perform atop a rooftop in New York. For the fans who thought the epic concert featuring Jay-Z and Eminem was cancelled, they were wrong.

The intimate concert was originally scheduled to be held in New York City's Theatre District of Times Square until the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting denied Jay-Z and CBS a permit to hold the show on the Ed Sullivan Theater's marquee -- where it would have attracted a crowd of thousands -- after word leaked out.

So that the show could go on, Em and Jay moved the concert to the rooftop of Ed Sullivan Theatre, where 100 lucky fans got an up close and personal show.

Although this is the first concert that the two have performed, it will definitely not be the last.

The two emcee's are scheduled to shut down New York's Yankee Stadium on September 13th and for Eminem's hometown of Detroit on September 2nd.

This performance airs on The David Letterman show on Friday June 25th.

T.I. Doesn't Want to Be an Old Azz Rapper

Several rappers have shared their opinions about staying relevant in today's fledgling hip hop game. Jay-Z retired 5 times, only to have come back and tell us that 30 was the new 20. Then he throws darts at other rappers and at 40-years-old, he wants us to believe he's "Forever Young." Thankfully, some rappers have actually considered that they may get too old to keep their gangstalicious subject matter relevant.

In a recent interview, T.I. was asked whether he plans to continue rapping into his older age. And what he said actually made sense. He was quoted saying:

"I'm not going to be the 40-year-old rapper. I would not," Tip told CNN in a recent interview. "That's Jay. He's doing it very well. Hats off, but I just don't see that for me." Tip, who will release his new album King Uncaged on August 17, prefers to take the path of another super successful rapper. "If I had the option to [be] Jay-Z [or] Will Smith, I think I'd go with Will," he revealed. "I'm a Jay-Z fan. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Jay and his legacy. But I feel like Will, he gets to spend more time with his family. He gets to be home more and actually raise his kids. I feel like he has more of a home life...and the money don't hurt. Twenty million dollars a flick ain't bad."

Jada Pinkett Smith Talks about her Relationships

Jada Pinkett Smith isn't shy about discussing her relationships. In a recent interview the actress says she and 'Pac never hooked up because if they had they probably would have killed each other.

In all of the documentaries we have watched of Tupac, he always discussed how much he loved Jada Pinkett so we wanted to get a better understanding of the relationship the two of them shared. Jada said that the best way to describe their relationship would be as a "platonic romance."

She said, "We knew us being together in a romantic way could destroy everything because we were both fire. We would burn everything up! So we knew in order to preserve our relationship there was no way we could ever add romance to it cause we probably would've killed each other!"

Interesting....So why even call it a romance? We're still not convinced these two never did the deed.

They also asked Jada about the rumored sexually-open marriage she has with husband Will Smith and this is what she said about being attracted to other people, and acting on that attraction:

"We always have people that were attracted to that we talk about. That don't stop just because your married. Somebody's always gonna catch your eye. That's real. Somebody's always gonna be prettier than me, and somebody's always gonna be more in awe of him than me and he is gonna be like (in Will's voice) 'yo she really like me' (laughter) but as far as somebody being right for us... is there somebody right for a nice night? Maybe. But somebody that can sustain our life and sustain what we've buikt together, absolutely not!!

Kanye West, Suge Knight Meet To Discuss Lawsuit

Instead of aiming jabs at each other on a record, two hip-hop stars are taking a more gentlemanly route to resolving beef. Kanye West and Marion "Suge" Knight met on Friday to discuss issues surrounding the 2005 party hosted by West during which Knight was shot in the leg. Knight also claims that a fellow partygoer stole his diamond earring during the melee.

The Death Row honcho filed a lawsuit against West in 2008 pegging partial responsibility for the shooting and jewelry loss on the outspoken Grammy-winning superstar. The suit has a December 6 court date, but the two hip-hop stars decided to meet in person to hash out the matter.

The Associated Press reports that West and Knight engaged in a closed-door meeting in Manhattan that lasted for six hours but, according to Knight, yielded few results. "I'm disappointed," Knight said. "I figured I could sit him down, man to man, and get this resolved." At press time, a rep for West had not responded to MTV News' request for comment.

Knight was shot at the 2005 bash, hosted by West at Miami Beach's Shore Club, which preceded the MTV Video Music Awards. The bullet shattered a bone in the mogul's right leg, an injury which required surgery and months of physical therapy. Knight racked up more than $200,000 in medical expenses, and the label head is seeking more than $1 million in damages in the lawsuit. Despite a bunch of celebrity attendees, including Jessica Alba and the Black Eyed Peas, only a few witnesses have come forward and the crime remains unsolved.

According to court papers, Knight places responsibility on West for allowing someone to get a firearm through security. Knight's lawyers also said that people known to be beefing with the Death Row boss attended the bash.

Knight insists he wants to resolve the situation amicably. "My whole thing is: I'm not here to put nobody behind bars," Knight said. "It's time for more positive now."

Angelina Jolie is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but her “perfect” looks have some critics complaining she’s all wrong for her latest role.

Earlier this month producer Scott Rudin got the Internet buzzing with his announcement that he was developing a Cleopatra biopic “for and with Jolie” based on Stacy Schiff’s book “Cleopatra: A Life.”

Schiff raved about the choice, telling USA Today, “Physically, she’s the perfect look.”

But some members of the African American community beg to differ — they are outraged by the casting decision and say Jolie is “too white” to play the Egyptian Queen.

“I don’t care how full Angelina Jolie’s lips are, how many African children she adopts, or how bronzed her skin will become for the film,” Shirea Carroll wrote in an editorial for Essence.com.

“I firmly believe this role should have gone to a Black woman…What’s next? A biopic on Sojourner Truth played by Betty White?”

Toy Story 3 Cleans Up at the Box Office

Toy Story 3 earned an incredible $109 million in US ticket sales over the weekend to make it the highest opening ever for a Pixar film. It also earned the second highest opening for an animated film of all time. The animated sequel about toys that come to life leaped to the No. 1 spot with a $109 million opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

“Toy Story 3” became the third animated film to top $100 million in the first weekend, joining “Shrek the Third” at $121.6 million and “Shrek 2” at $108 million.

It was by far the best debut for a film from Disney’s Pixar Animation, topping “The Incredibles” at $70.5 million.

“Toy Story 3” took over the No. 1 spot from Sony’s “The Karate Kid,” which pulled in $29 million to raise its 10-day total to $106.3 million.

Music business badly needs Eminem's "Recovery"

"Recovery," the new album from rapper Eminem, could not be more aptly named for a music business facing an alarming fall in sales so far this year. The Detroit star's seventh studio album hits shelves on Monday, a day earlier than planned after tracks leaked on the Internet. It comes about a week after the release of Canadian artist Drake's debut "Thank Me Later," which is also expected to perform strongly.

But the duo are unlikely to lift the gloom hanging over the music business for long, with year-to-date U.S. physical and digital album sales by early June down 11 percent year-on-year to 130.6 million, extending a decade-long decline.

According to Nielson Soundscan, which tracks sales, 4.98 million albums sold were sold in the week ending May 30, possibly the lowest figure since the early 1970s. By comparison the record one-week tally set in December 2000 was 45.4 million.

Analysts put the low figure down to a weak lineup during that particular week, and Drake's record is forecast to be one of the largest launches of the year so far while Eminem, another "tentpole" album, follows hot on his heels.

Jay-Z Concert Gets Squashed by the Mayor

Jay-Z had planned to put on a surprise performance atop the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater Monday but the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting put the kibosh on it yesterday.

Like Paul McCartney last year, the Brooklyn-born rap superstar had planned to use his appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” to give a show in the middle of rush-hour Midtown.

“There was discussion of a concert, and ultimately it was decided there would be no permit,” said Julianne Cho, spokeswoman for the film office.

The mini-concert was axed abruptly after weeks of planning and negotiations, sources said.

The decision came on the heels of a free performance by rapper Drake at the South Street Seaport that was canceled Tuesday after 10,000 people — triple what was expected — grew unruly when the entertainer kept them waiting for 90 minutes.

Six people suffered minor injuries. Two people were arrested.

Sources told The Post that a permit for Jay-Z’s performance would have been granted only if organizers could keep the show secret, but word of the show leaked out yesterday.

“Many permits are granted on the condition that the event is not made public beforehand for capacity and security reasons,” Cho said. “This event was made public.”

Marcus Jordan: Kobe's Still No Michael

One of Michael Jordan's defining characteristics during his heyday as a corporate pitchman was his ability to preserve his polished image by never saying anything remotely controversial. As Kobe Bryant struggled through a nightmarish first half in Thursday night's decisive game of the NBA Finals, Marcus decided is was the ideal time to weigh in on the frequent comparisons between his father and the Lakers star. Here's what Michael's youngest son Tweeted late in the second quarter: "NO ONE...And I mean NO ONE should EVER compare Kobe Bryant to my Dad and say that he is anywhere near close to my Dad. He's jagging this game"

Then during halftime when ABC showed a chart comparing Bryant and Jordan in the NBA Finals, Marcus Tweeted, "I know y'all just seen the stats too" and "no comparison."

Celtics vs Lakers

So as you know the game was last night and the Lakers won. I am not happy about that at all. I felt that the Celtics should have won. They deserved it more than anyone. They played great, but I did notice that once the Lakers started falling behind more fouls were being called for them. It seemed like it was being made to where they could catch up. In my opinion it wasn't a fair game. I love basketball but it starts making me sick when I see all of the politics involved in the game. It is supposed to be for the love of basketball not the politics of it. Well that is my opinion and it made me sad to see that the deserving team didn't win. Give me your thoughts and opinions.

Celtics vs Lakers

So today is the final day for the NBA finals. I was upset that it was pushed to Game 7 but I have faith in the Celtics that they will come back and win it. They need to do it for Perkins since he cant play in this game. Who do you think is going to win or who do you want to win? GO CELTICS!!!!

Drake: "Thank Me Later"

The highly anticipated, first studio album from the overnight sensation Drake could be everything and more for listeners or it could be viewed as a big disappointment -- thus making the name "Thank Me Later" completely apropos.

Thank Me Later feels like Drake's autobiography of how his fame and success have changed his life for the better and for the worse over the last year and a half.

The first song on the album, "Fireworks," starts off with the line, "Money just changed everything, I wonder how life without it would go."

Those that are looking for the mixtape feel of "So Far Gone" or some of the harder, rougher collaborations that Drake has been featured on in the last year and a half, are going to be highly disappointed.

This album is exactly what it means to be for Drake -- his first "Studio" album.

Happy Birthday....Pac!!!

Today would have marked the 39th birthday for one of the most controversial but influential men in hip-hop and society as a whole.

Tupac Shakur was born June 16th, 1971 and was brutally shot on the Vegas strip on September 7th, 1996, after leaving a heavyweight fight between Mike Tyson and Bruce Shelton. He died from complications of his bullet wounds on September 13th, 1996.

Tupac Shakur even in his death has maintained a tight grip on the music industry as he did when he was alive. He has inspired many rappers of today who have tried hard to emulate the bravado, thug-life and charm that he held. Many tried but they've all failed. Throughout all of Pac's so-called faults, he was a visionary that knew the world was 'effed' up completely. He delivered the news to you straight with no chaser whether you liked it or not. His stance on social issues, as well as having the street cred to rep' for the lowest of the low made Tupac loved by many.

Tupac's murder still remains unsolved to this date.

Lakers force game 7 in NBA Finals

The Trophy, the champagne, the hats, the T-shirts. Even Bill Russell and Kevin McHale. Everything was in place at the Staples Center for the Boston Celtics to wrap up their 18th NBA championship.

And then the Lakers shoved everything back in its boxes and sent all the Celtics in sight back to their hotels for two more days. With an emphatic, historic blowout win in Game 6 Tuesday night, Los Angeles earned the right to host the grand finale to both the NBA season and this scintillating chapter in the league's most glamorous rivalry. Kobe Bryant scored 26 points, Pau Gasol added 17 points and 13 rebounds, and the Lakers held Boston to the second lowest-scoring performance in the NBA finals history in an 89-67 victory, setting up a winner-take-all Game 7 Thursday.

He left that to the Celtics, who fell all over themselves after falling behind by 22 points in the first half. Boston memorably eliminated the Lakers in the sixth game of the 2008 finals with a 39-point blowout -- but this time around, the Celtics lost their series lead and their starting center in one disastrous Game 6.

"We didn't get in any rhythm early, and it affects our chemistry," said Ray Allen, who scored 19 points. "We each tried to make a home run play early. As a starting unit, we take responsibility. We have to do a better job next game."

BP Engineer Called Doomed Rig a "Nightmare Well"

BP took measures to cut costs in the weeks before the catastrophic blowout in the Gulf of Mexico as it dealt with one problem after another, prompting a BP engineer to describe the doomed rig as a "nightmare well," according to internal documents released Monday. The comment by BP engineer Brian Morel came in an e-mail April 14, six days before the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion that killed 11 people and has sent tens of millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf in the nation's worst environmental disaster.

"Time after time, it appears that BP made decisions that increased the risk of a blowout to save the company time or expense," the lawmakers wrote in the 14-page letter to Hayward. "If this is what happened, BP's carelessness and complacency have inflicted a heavy toll on the Gulf, its inhabitants, and the workers on the rig."

Kobe's Emotional Comments

On his way into the losing locker room, the most angry man in the Garden was heard to bellow a spontaneous stream of curses into the ears of his Los Angeles Lakers. As the door slammed behind them, a witness heard Kobe Bryant screaming that he needed some-bleeping-one to make a stand with him.
"We've regressed since Game 1," Bryant confessed. "Our defense belongs on milk cartons in the last two games."

All around him, these Lakers were unraveling. Andrew Bynum struggled on one knee. Lamar Odom felt sick. Kevin Garnett destroyed Pau Gasol, and Paul Pierce obliterated Ron Artest. Rondo made dramatic, defining plays. The Lakers let down everywhere. This looked like 2008 again, looked like manhandling that doomed the Lakers to a humiliating Finals loss in Boston.

You can give your opinion and tell me what you think but it sounds to me like Kobe is just crying. This shows that the Lakers underestimate the Celtics again. They need to stop doing that!

Girl Fights Oklahoma Flood Waters

A state of emergency has been declared in 59 of Oklahoma's 77 counties, at the request of Gov. Brad Henry, who is out of town. Lt. Gov. Jari Askins, who approved the emergency paperwork commended the state's emergency crews, saying "Once again, our heroic responders have demonstrated the Oklahoma Standard."
